‘Dhofar Essence’ Tour (Half Day)

The tour takes you to Taqa, a village famed for its long paved beach and the ancient Taqah Castle and Fort. On the way you see the Royal Farm and Marmura Palace.

The ruins of Sumhurum (Khor Rori) is located nearby. It is believed to be the location of the palace of Queen Sheba, and a hub of Frankincense trade.

Drive along the coastal road to the old city of Mirbat, famed for Arabian horses and Slave trade. The Bin Ali Mosque, built in the 14th century, the Mirbat Castle and the Old Merchant Houses with their typical Yemeni architecture are quite interesting to visit.

Return to Salalah.

We now take you to the homes of Jebalis, who are traditional camel and cattle herders. Next spot is the natural spring of Ain Razat located at the foot of the Qara Mountain.
